Meet our experienced and friendly team who make Family Vision Center the leading provider of vision care in Rochester

Vadim Guy, OD, FAAO

Dr. Vadim Guy is a Rochester local who grew up in Greece and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Roberts Wesleyan College. He then obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For his externship, Dr. Guy trained at world renowned, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, in ocular disease including glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration. He also completed clinical rotations in binocular vision, contact lens, geriatrics, low vision, pediatrics, and primary care.

Dr. Guy completed his residency at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, studying pediatrics, binocular vision (amblyopia and strabismus), vision therapy, double vision, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. During his residency, he spent time training with the pediatric ophthalmology department at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr.Guy is intrigued with myopia control, nearsightedness, and Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). He is certified to work with Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthoketalogy and Myopia Control (AAOMC), where he attends conferences to expand his knowledge and learns the latest research on myopia control. He also works with “hard-to-fit” contact lenses for conditions such as Kerataconus, and specialty Scleral Contact Lenses.

Dr. Guy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a candidate for fellowship with the College of Optometry in Vision Development (COVD). He is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), New York State Optometric Association, Rochester Optometric Society, and many others.

Dr. Guy enjoys being involved and giving back. He is currently serving as the immediate past-president of the Rochester Optometric Association, a board member of Children’s Vision Coalition, and the state clinical director for Healthy Athletes with Special Olympics New York.

In addition to his professional involvement, Dr. Guy enjoys traveling and has visited numerous countries around the world providing eye care with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. He enjoys spending time with his wife and traveling. He also enjoys being with friends and family, especially his numerous nieces and nephews.

Ludmila, New York State Licensed Optician

Ludmila began her career in optometry nearly 20 years ago as an optometric technician. Since then Ludmila has worked for several optical shops large and small, in New York and Florida, gaining valuable experience that she now applies at Family Vision Center. She earned an associates degree in opticianry from Hillsborough Community College, Tampa FL. Ludmila is a licensed optician in two states and a member of the Opticians Association of America (OAA). She holds the American Board of Opticianry Certification (ABOC) and the National Contact Lens Certification (NCLEC). Ludmila has been with Family Vision Center for over 5 years. Together with her husband Peter, they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Ludmila enjoys spending time with her grandchildren on the weekends, and vacationing on sandy beaches.

Valeriy, Office Manager

Valeriy joined our team in 2017. He is a Rochester native and brings over 10 years of management experience to our practice. Valeriy earned his Bachelor of Science from Southeastern University, Lakeland Florida. He is currently studying to become a Licensed Optician so that he can further assist our patients with their optical needs. Valeriy and his wife Marianna have 3 children, and enjoy exploring Rochester’s parks and outdoor attractions. Valeriy volunteers at his church in media arts, and likes to use his spare time doing construction projects on the weekends.


Tatyana, Optometric Technician

Tatyana joined our team in 2014. She’s pursuing her interest of working in the healthcare environment and is currently enrolled in the Nursing program at Roberts Wesleyan College. While studying nursing, she enjoys working at the office with patients. She has a passion for singing and is an active member at her church, and serves on the worship team.

Emily, Optometric Technician

Emily joined our team in 2016. She has an active interest in the medical professions and is currently attending college. Emily developed an interest for Optometry and Vision Therapy while she was Dr. Guy’s patient. Her goal is to complete Optometry school and specialize in Vision Therapy. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ruthie, Receptionist/Technician

Ruthie joined our team in 2017 in hopes of exploring her interest in professional health care. She is currently studying to become a Clinical Psychologist at University of Buffalo. Ruthie is also pursuing her interest in writing and has published a few pieces of work on her website. Her hobbies include volunteering as a children’s choir director at her church, and traveling as much as she can in her free time.

Nataliya, Receptionist/Technician

Nataliya joined our team in 2017 and has a passion for patient care. She is currently in college studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, with the goal of becoming a registered nurse. She also hopes to become a language interpreter in medical settings for Ukrainian speaking immigrants. One of Nataliya’s hobbies include portrait and lifestyle photography. Two years ago that hobby turned into a passion and she began building her professional portfolio, and plans to continue its growth. Nataliya’s goal is to become a Travel Nurse and incorporate her two passions into her lifestyle.
