Medical Receptionist – First Impressions Director

Part-time, up to 30 hours

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to our patients and leave lasting positive impressions
  • Greet and welcome patients upon arrival, assist with checking-in, and answer any questions
  • Update patient information, schedule appointments, place contact lens orders, guide patient through the check-out process and billing at the end of visit
  • Confirm upcoming appointments, check insurance coverage, submit insurance claims, notify patients of received orders
  • Answer phone calls, check voicemails, review emails, and follow up appropriately via phone or electronic communication methods
  • Provide assistance with prescreening patients before eye exams
  • Receive mail and package deliveries
  • Follow office opening and closing procedures, keep office areas organized and clean on daily basis, and restock supplies

Basic requirements:

  • Customer-service experience recommended
  • Experience in a medical or optometry office setting preferred
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Windows and Office software
  • Comfort using office and computer equipment such as printer, copy/fax machine, scanner
  • Familiarity with web-based applications preferred
  • Must have at least a high school diploma
